We tasted 12 of the finest wines from California and Oregon.
We asked for one vote for favorite from each Flight.

Argyle Brut Extended Tirage 2005 was the Favorite Sparkling, MacRostie Wildcat Mountain Chardonnay 2013 was the Favorite of Flight III. Argyle Reserve Pinot Noir 2014 was the Favorite of Flight IV. All liked Argyle Nuthouse Riesling 2013.

The cheese was Monterey Jack Cabot Cheese of Vermont.

Argyle Brut 2013
Aromas of white peach, ripe apple, baked pastry and mango-vanilla. Pink grapefruit flavors with balanced acidity and a creamy, finish.

Argyle Brut Rosé 2013
Grapes: 70% Pinot noir, 20 % Chardonnay, 10 % Petit Meunier.
The color is bright, pale salmon pink. Bouquet is full of rose petal, strawberries, and lemon zest. The barrel aging of the red wine produces savory, creamy complexity, and a long finish.

Argyle Brut Extended Tirage 2005
65% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay.
Full malolactic-fermented in neutral barrels, drives the structure and texture. Fruit, spice, orange rind, and grilled peach are layered with almond, and soft supple creaminess and mineral. A very long finish. The Favorite of this Flight.

A blend of Argyle's three sites at low and high elevations, barrel fermented and aged for 12 months (25% new wood). Light, bright and refreshing, with grapefruit, pear and floral flavors continuing with a long finish. Drink now through 2019

Ripe grapefruit and white peach aroma and on palate. Lots of acidity keeps the flavors fresh. Drink now.

MacRostie Wildcat Mountain Chardonnay 2013
Vibrant fruit with underlying minerality and lemon ginger known for this vineyard. This wine has weight, substance and complexity. It finishes long with a note of honey which is this wine’s signature. This wine can age. The Favorite of this Flight.

Flight IV: Pinot Noir Votes Full Retail Price $
Argyle Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2015
Fermented entirely in small 1.5 ton lots and plunged by hand, Argyle Pinot Noir is blended for purity. Dark cherry, red raspberry and spicy earth in nose. Lush and silky on the palate, firm tannins and long finish.

Argyle Reserve Pinot Noir 2014
All three of the vineyards are based in volcanic, red soils, contributing to the sweet cherry, red plum, and toasted, rich, earth nose. The tannins are firm, but rounded, an underlying minerality in the mid palate and long finish. Pure fruit flavors, juicy acidity, and the trademark silky texture. The Favorite of the Flight.

Bright raspberry, spicy floral and black tea flavors. Rich palate with mild tannins and a long finish.

Made from a handful of vineyards, including many used in vineyard-designates. Blending prowess shows in this wine that explodes in plum and clove. Tight, bright acid, flavors of strawberry, cranberry and orange, with earth on the finish.

MacRostie Wildcat Mountain Pinot Noir 2012
Dark cranberry in color. Aroma of red raspberry and cinnamon spice. Firm acidity with a slight mushroom note in the palate that leads into a lasting finish.
