Thursday September 24, 2015

Speaker: Harriet Lembeck, Wine Educator, President of Wine & Spirits Program

We tasted 10 Bordeaux from 1990 including 2 first growths.

Prices are medium NY area prices found on the web. We asked for one vote for favorite for Flight I, and Flight III Château Angelus , was the favorite for Flight I. Everyone liked Château La Mission Haut Brion, Pessac, Graves Flight II. Château Lafite-Rothschild, 1st –Pauillac was the favorite of Flight III. Unfortunately Château Pichon Longueville (Baron), Pauillac was corked but all the rest of the wines showed well. It was an amazing tasting of great wines.

The Monterey Jack cheese was provided by Cabot Cheese of Vermont.

Exceptional nose of licorice, creme de cassis and blackberries. But it's the sweetness and purity of fruit, coupled with its silky textures that seal the deal. At 25 years of age, this is the perfect time to be opening your bottles. The favorite of this flight.
