La Ferme de Rougefort is owned by Catherine Pere-Verg who owns some of the great names of Pomerol. The vineyards are managed by Marcelo Pelleriti and Michel Roland.

Prices are full markup retail price. All the wines were elegant and showed why they were top wines of 2007 by Robert Parker. We asked for two votes for favorite of Flight I and one vote for Flight II and III. Chateau Montviel 2006 was the favorite for Flight I and Château Montviel 2005 placed a close second. Manoir de Gay 2005 was the favorite for Flight II and Chateau la Violette 2007 was the favorite of Flight III. Cabot Cheese of Vermont provided the cheese.

AOC Lalande de Pomerol
Grapes: 80% Merlot 20% Cabernet Franc
Average age of vines: 50 years old. The Cabernet Franc provides the wine roundness and fruitiness. The Merlot provides finesse, body and fruit. Well balanced with long finish. 13.5% alcohol.

AOC Lalande de Pomerol
Grapes: 100% Merlot. Intense red wine. Ripe cherries aromas with traces of mint. Ripe red fruit and spice on the palate. Round and balanced with a long finish.

Grape Variety: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc
Alcohol 13%
Age of vines: 30 years
Color: Dark red. Tobacco, truffle, blackberry and oak in nose. Full bodied silky and round. A ripe dark berry concentrated flavored wine. 2500 cases produced.

Grape Variety : 80% Merlot,20% Cabernet Franc
Alcohol 13.5%
Ruby red color. Black fruit and spice on the nose and palate. Wam and full with a long finish. The second favorite of the flight.

Grape Variety : 90% Merlot,10% Cabernet Franc Alcohol 13.5% Ruby red color. Black fruit and green olive on the nose and palate. Bolder tannins and a very long finish. The favorite of the flight.

Second wine of Chateau Le Gay
Grape Variety: 80% Merlot,20% Cabernet Franc
Ruby red color. Alcohol 13.5%
Barrel aged in new Oak 20 months.
Aromas of sandalwood, rose and plum. Medium bodied. Fine tannins and fresh fruit. Short finish.

Grape Variety 80% Merlot, 20 % Cabernet Franc Alcohol 13.5% Smoke, chocolate and meat on the nose. Medium to full bodied with fine tannins and a delicious finish. A pretty wine.
Annual Production 1200 cases. The favorite Manoir de Gay of this flight.

Grape Variety: Merlot 65%, Cabernet Franc 35% 13.5% Alcohol.
Aromas of blackberry,blueberry, black cherry, currant, vanilla. Rich and layered flavors of black fruits and plum. Long finish.
