We tasted 6 superb wines from Southern Rhone. Prices are medium NY area prices found on the web. All the wines showed well. It was an amazing tasting of great wines. Extra Sharp Cheddar of Cabot Cheese of Vermont was provided with the tasting.

50% Bourbelanc, 30 % Grenache blanc, 20% Rousanne
Pale yellow color. Aromas of fresh grass, and mineral. Palate of fresh citrus fruits; pineapple, melon. Clean, long aromatic finish.

Gran Vin Red 2015
55% Mouvredre, 30% Syrah, 15% Grenache Noir
Deep red color with hints of black. Complex bouquet with a blend of ripe red and black fruits, spices, licorice and tobacco. Full-bodied and elegant mouth feel with dense and silky tannins. Very long finish.
Wonderful with game, red meat and sauce dishes. Try it with a serious T-bone.

“1753” Viognier 2018
100% Viognier
Harvested at full maturity, the ripe grapes were taken immediately to be pressed, then the must was chilled and settled. Vinified in the traditional manner, a proportion of the wine was matured in tank with the remainder matured in used oak for a period of three months prior to the final blend. Beautifully packaged, incorporating a glass stopper.
A beautifully balanced and aromatic wine with a nectarine, ginger and honeysuckle character, with a creamy finish.

Light pink color. Raspberries and strawberries on nose and on palate. With a refreshing acidity on the palate and finish.

50% Grenache, 25% Syrah 15% Mourvedre, 10% Cinsault
Garrigue bouquet, black currants on nose and on the palate, with aromas of cocoa and cherry, with a long finish of licorice.
In its youth, this vintage is perfect to pair with a shoulder of lamb slow roasted in oven, and from its fifth year, stew, Daube Provencal, all game and many cheeses. Rated 93 points from James Suckling
