Speaker: Ken Dane, Tri-State Regional Manager, WineSellers, LTD

We tasted 15 of the finest wines from Germany.

Prices are full markup retail price. We asked for two votes for favorite for all the wines. Weingut Bollig Lehnert Piesporter Goldtopfchen Spatlese 2012 was the Favorite wine of the night and Paul Anheuser Blanc de Noir placed second. The cheese was provided by Cabot Cheese of Vermont. Everybody had an incredible education on reislings from all the regions of germany and had a wonderful time.

Flight I: Dry, Other Full Retail Price $
Fritz-Ritter Sekt NV Sparkling
Delightful. Slightly toasty on the nose, but there’s plenty of fresh fruit as well, ranging from apple to pineapple and tangerine. Clean, fresh, delightful!
$20.00
Paul Anheuser Blanc de Noir 2013
Produced from 100% Pinot Noir only from the Anheuser's estate vineyards in Kreuznach, the grapes are pressed and only the clear-run juice used, which is classified as a white wine - or 'Blanc de Noir'. The wine has ripe and appealing Pinot Noir flavors, such as cherry, strawberry and other Pinot-like complexities, yet finishes dry. This wine is a perfect match with a wide array of cuisine, but also makes a perfect spring/summer sipper. Second favorite of the night.

Peach aromas. Made from Kabinett level fruit from a combination of two declassified estate single vineyards near Oppenheim, Frank has the flexibility to create the highest quality wine for the money. The wine itself reflects the best attributes of the region with rich fruitiness, underlying complexity and balanced acidity, all in a drier-style Kabinett.
$13.00
Bollig-Lehnert Trittenheim Kabinett 2012
This pale white gold colored Riesling opens with wet stone, ripe pear and pilsner beer like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, juicy, slightly acidic and really coats the mouth. The flavor profile is a tasty mild mineral infused pineapple and green apple blend with hints of pear, lime, and ginger. The finish is semi-dry and its flavors linger nicely after the wine is gone. This nice Riesling would pair well with a grilled swordfish sandwich.
