We began our tasting with Chivas Regal 12 Year Old served on the rocks followed by a tutored tasting of a range of Blended and Single Malt Whiskies of different ages, finishing the evening with a nightcap. Chivas Regal 12 Year Old was liked by all. Strathisla 12 Year Old Single Malt was the favorite of Flight II, Aberlour 15 Year Old Sherry Wood Finish was the favorite of Flight III, The Glenlivet 18 Year Old Single Malt was the favorite of Flight IV, The Glenlivet 21 Year Old Single Malt was rated the favorite of Flight V. Aberlour a'bunadh Cask Strength Single Malt, the Nightcap was rated highly by most.

Chivas Regal 12 Year Old Deluxe Blended Scotch Whisky
Warm amber color, wild herbs, heather and honey in the nose. Round and creamy on the palate with a rich full taste of honey and ripe apples with vanilla, hazelnut and butterscotch notes. The finish was rich and long.

Deep amber color. Aroma is intense with hints of cedar wood and citrus fruit. Palate contrasts notes of ripe mango with cinnamon and white pepper. The finish is long and creamy balanced by a spicy dryness. |

Aberlour 15 Year Old Sherry Wood Finish
Golden amber color. Nose is a confection of marzipan and geraniums with sherry and orange blossom and a slight smokiness. The palate is soft and spicy with toasted oak flavor overlaid with a sherry sweet nuttiness mixed with ripe apricots and toffee. The finish is gentle and mellow with spiciness and some mint. The favorite of this flight.
