We tasted the finest wines from South America’s largest wine producer, Concha y Toro.

We tasted 11 World Class wines, including Carmin de Peumo Carmenere Robert Parker 95 pts, Terrunyo Carmenere Wine &Spirits 95 pts, Don Melchor Cabernet Sauvignon Wine &Spirits 93pts, Terrunyo Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Spectator 93pts, Terrunya Sauvignon Blanc Wine Enthusiast 90 pts, Marques de Casa Concha Chardonnay Wine Spectator 90 pts and more.

Prices are full markup retail price. We asked for one vote for favorite white, one votes for favorite Camenere and one vote for favorite Cabernet Sauvignon. Terrunyo Sauvignon Blanc 2009 was the favorite White, Carmin de Peumo Carmenere 2008 was the favorite Red Camenere, Don Melchor Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 was the favorite Red Cabernet Sauvignon. All liked Concha y Toro Casillero del Diablo and Private Reserve Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc 2009.

Terrunyo Sauvignon Blanc 2009
Grapes: 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Pale yellow in color, aromas of grapefruit, and herbs. A full bodied wine with ripe citrus flavors and minerality. Crisp acidity, balanced, with a long finish. Perfect accompaniment with fresh seafood . The favorite of the flight.

Marques de Casa Concha Chardonnay 2009
Grape Variety: 100% Chardonnay- Single vineyard estate bottled. Light yellow color, Aromas of pear, and a little vanilla. Full bodied with minerality, ripe fig, and pear flavors. Creamy with crisp acidity on the palate with a long finish. Serve with white meat, shellfish and fresh cheese.

Amelia Chardonnay 2011
Grape Variety 100% Chardonnay. Deep greenish yellow color. Nose of mineral, smoke and vanilla. Fermented and aged in French oak barrels for nine months. The palate is opulate and smooth with a long complex finish. Serve with fresh seafood and soft cheeses.

Concha y Toro Casillero del Diablo
100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of dark cherry and blueberry hidden under the aromas of tobacco and chocolate. The palate is the same with a little spice leading to a dry, but peppery finish. A great choice with red meats and mature cheese.

100% Camenere, Aged 18 months in French oak barrels. Deep dark red , Intense aromas of black fruits , spices and black pepper. Big mouth feel, with round tannins and a long elegant finish.

Terrunyo Carmenere 2008
Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir
85% Carmenere, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aging: 19: months in French Oak Barrels (70% new/30% old). Dark red color. Aromas of ripe red fruit, spice and tobacco. Big mouth feel, with powerful sweet tannins, lots of fruit and long finish.

Carmin de Peumo Carmenere 2008
Grapes: 90% Carmenere, 7.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2.5% Cabernet Franc. 18 months 100% French oak barrels. Color: deep dark red. Elegant and complex nose with layers of spice, blueberries, mineral and tobacco. Mouth- filling dark chocolate , mineral and earth flavors on the palate. A very long finish. Delicious. The favorite of the Carmenere Flight.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for 18 months in French oak, (39% new/61% 2nd use). Deep red in color. Dark fruit aromas of cherries, black berries, and smoke. The palate has strong flavors with a soft and silky texture with a long finish.
